Day Out

After lots of research and saving left over money from my grocery budget,we went and purchased a real fire for our lounge.
We had always planned to buy a log burner but after reading up on it and surveying our chimney we decised it would be far to expensive to have it installed. So we went and got this

OH had been sent a promotional offer which meant that we wouldnt have to pay the VAT so saved £42.The place we went to was about an hour away from home so we made a day of it.The fireplace wasnt in stock so was umming and ahhring about what to do when a neighbour of ours walked in.He said i could get it delivered to his yard so no waiting in for the courier.

After this we drove into Portsmouth and had a wander around. It was nice to go out with the girls and for it to stay mostly dry.

An expensive day but hopefully we will save in the long run and so rewarding to have saved for it.

Hope it has been dry in your neck of the woods.

    1. Sooner it goes in the better, originally going to have a log burner but that involved a flexible flue and scaffolding.Hetas engineer so was looking at at least £1000 not including cost of burner.
Hopefully my gas bill will reduce this winter.

  5. We had lovely weather aswell shame it didnt carry on!

The fireplace is really nice, just imagine how snug your house will be ... I'm jealous already our fire place was disconnected by the landlord before we moved in so we will have to use our central heating. x
