My eldest daughter has been suffering with alot of pain in her ear recently,She is working away from home for a few days next week so was desperate to get it sorted.Luckily she has been given the direct number to her consultants secretary so after one quick call she was able to bring her appointment forward.
So yesterday morning we sat in ENT, she had her ears cleaned out and now as if by magic she can hear and the pain has gone.
Poor DD has been under the hospital for 19 years now we can walk in and the staff will say hello to her by name and just tell us to sit down.
So work as shuffled around so she didn't have to deal with it on her own.
This time of year brings lots of renewal notices, yesterday it was car insurance and breakdown cover.
Breakdown cover isn't until May so I'm leaving that a bit longer.
The car insurance with a few extras has come in at £13 a month less than I'm currently paying so I'm well pleased with that and i went through topcasback so will get £ 40 back.My breakdown cover is going to be difficult as my current provider have over doubled but they are the only company that offer the cover i have so i think sacrifices will be made in level of cover as I'm not paying £52 a month.
Has anyone else been taking advantage of cashback offers?

Thank you Mr Tesco
I am just loving my bargain shops at the moment,I mentioned yesterday about this shop.
I picked it up no problem,he was a bit shocked at the size of the order but after cashback i paid 37 p for these 2 items, cant argue with that.
Tomorrow new things are added to Quidco, one of them is going to be cashback on Millicano coffee,i don't know how much you will get back yet but in Tesco an offer ends on Millicano it is half price £1.99, so tomorrow as I'm working very near Tesco i will be buying some..
As you have already gathered I'm loving this new concept in shopping.I'm not buying any things i wouldn't normally buy and I'm keeping well within my grocery budget i have spent £ 168 this month and i have more than enough in the freezers .

Im so glad i went
Today started bright and early.Nice easy journey to Paddington,.Taxi driver was really friendly and chatted the whole way.Glad i wasn't paying for it as it cost £24.
I was interviewed by Hannah and it was relaxed and comfortable and she put me completely at ease.
Next hair and makeup, my make up artist used to do hair and make up for Helen Miran and Penny Lancaster to name just 2.
Tried on a few outfits with stylist when she offered me the outfit i wore i was shocked,I never where jeans, always thought they should be left to the slimmer people but i was pleasantly surprised. The shoes were killers and i now have the blisters to show for it.
All involved were brilliant you were made to feel you were the most amazing person ever and praised all the time whilst pictures were taken.
Lunch was brought in and then round two of pictures which were group photos.
If your not easily upset i a have put a few photos below. yeas i know it must be a first for me to put my own picture on.
I met 2 lovely ladies at the photo shoot so that's another added bonus.
I arrived home at 5.30 and im delighted that i stepped out of my comfort zone and didn't bottle out of doing it.

I have purchased my train tickets for my journey to London tomorrow.£47.20 for a 1 day travel card eek...
I will be reimbursed all my travel costs tomorrow .
It will be an early start,i have reserved a seat on the 7.33 train to Paddington and i will arrive at 8.03 am then hopefully a taxi will get me to my destination by 9 am.I am still very nervous but everyone i have spoken to so far involved in the shoot have been really nice.

Most of the items on it i have been doing for years but there were a couple of new ones which im looking into.
I'm glad to see a few people have signed up to Topcashback.I'm finding the snap and save, click and snap and shopitize amazing.Adding to that comparing some prices and getting the asda price guarantee 10%.
Here's a link to free cashback, click on this link and go down to Visit Orlando, its £2.17 free cashback which tracks very quickly for filling in a few details.

simple things
please simple minds.
At the moment all the cashback sites are pleasing me,All 3 of them have there own version of snap and save. You get cashback very quickly for normal everyday items. For example Andrex toilet tissue 9 pack £3.75 in Tesco (price checks done on Mysupermarket)
Quidco are giving a £1 cashback and so are Topcashback.Another site i have come across is Shopitize so between the 3 you can get a nice bit back on your shopping.
Another no brainer on Quidco is £12 cashback for a free 30 day trial on Now TV to qualify you must watch 90 mins of content( 1 film) you can cancel at anytime during the trial.
So for anyone that still needs a referral( when you reach £10 of payable money i get £10,something you can all do to)
here's links to topcashback and quidco.

My DD has highlighted my hair in preparation for Friday, she saves me a small fortune in colouring.
This evening my youngest and i went to the cinema to see Mama
another freebie. Its a bit far fetched but very jumpy .It always amazes me that people hear a noise and never turn a light on when they go and look and walk across the woods to a deserted shack in the dark with no torch, hark at me... its not real......
I wouldn't have wanted to pay to watch this but we enjoyed it...

It is now 4.24 am and i have been awake hours......
It didn't start this way,i was asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow and 10pm....
Then came the phonecall.1.50 am DD rang me to say her **** of a boyfriend had stormed off and left her,she was in a safe place so i told her to stay put and i would come and get her.so now I'm wide awake, tired but awake if that makes sense.

I will be with them from 9.30 till about 5 and everything is included, train, taxi, food and i will have a stylist
hark at me ...I will have my hair & makeup done and will even be dressed the lady has told me not to worry
(me worry never....) it will be a fun day.
Hopefully i will be able to take lots of photos and share my day with you...
well I'm signing off and i hope i get a few hours of sleep in before the sun rises.

From the Heart
This week a campaign is running to coincide with Valentines day to get more people to register as organ donors.
You no longer have to carry a card you can register your interest online
https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/
I have had my name down for years as has my youngest daughter.I don't feel its morbid i would like to think that on the event of my death some of my organs could prolong the life of someone else.By registering my wishes online this also takes some of the decision making from my family.
Personally i think it should work the other way round i think if people don't wont to be an organ donor they should opt out .So if you aren't already on it have a look and sign up.

Its hard to say goodbye
Its been a very busy few days.Sunday i cooked for 10.
Managed to scrape together a roast from the contents of the freezer.
It was lovely to see the room get Maddied ,toys everywhere and even better to see the girls so excited to see Isabelle who rewarded them with lots of smiles.
Tonight they are flying back home always the hardest part of a reunion is saying goodbye.
As you are all no doubt aware by now i try and save/.earn a few pennies anyway i can and like many i use cashback sites like Topcashback.Well a new way of earning cashback with them is
http://www.topcashback.co.uk/SnapAndSave/Offers
If any of my Uk followers arent already signed up let me know and i will refer you(so i can get a referel fee)
cheeky i know but every little helps.
It has a list of food items that if you buy you send a picture of your receipt and you get cashback.
One of said items was coca cola which i purchased yesterday (rather cheaply) so i should get 50 p cashback on that.Another one that i should get soon is from laterooms.A friends daughter is getting married in June and as we don't live near her anymore we knew we would have to get a hotel. So i found out where the reception was being held and was able to find a terrific deal with laterooms and was able to book 3 rooms and i don't have to pay until we arrive so plenty of time to save .

they are home
Today my lovely granddaughters came to visit,it was only a fleeting visit but it was full of cuddles.
Little one told me she missed me and that she loved me which are words everyone loves to hear. They will be back tomorrow for dinner. But here are a few pictures of the visit.
DD was going through some pictures and needed to know dates of certain events so i went back through my blog to give her the dates she wanted,
Its always great to read back at what was going on in your life a year ago.Im so glad i started blogging as i cant always remember what i did last week let alone last year.

Reducing Monthly outgoings
Like many people on a path to pay debts off and live a more frugal life i shop around for the best prices for all my household bills.A few weeks ago i did a comparison on Building and Contents insurance.I found a company that was offering me the same level of cover but for less than half what i am currently paying.Today i phoned up my current provider and it worked out i would owe them£7 for cancelling early so decided this was worth it and changed. My monthly payment has gone from £47 to £21 and i get free cover for my central heating and electrics.
Looking forward to being able to renew my car insurance at the end of this month as i have checked this and this will also be a lot cheaper.
On a downside,i have just had a ding dong with my OH he is not giving me all the money he earns he is keeping some back for himself. If we didn't need the money coming in i wouldn't mind but when hes not giving anything to me and is coming in with 6 beers for himself i get annoyed he really does think he deserves this and if i don't like it i should work more..This would all be so much easier and quicker if we worked together but i know this will never happen.

Marie Curie
I have finally pulled my finger out and done something i have talked about doing for a very long time.Charity work....
My mum died nearly 25 years ago of Cancer and she was helped at the end by Marie Curie nurses. So when i saw this
http://www.mariecurie.org.uk/en-GB/fundraising-volunteering/great-daffodil-appeal/
I decided to email them,
Well today i spoke to them and was able to choose when and where i would collect. So my day is 30th March (Easter Saturday) and I'm giving 2 hours of my day to collect. Hopefully it will be the first of many things i do.

I have a favour to ask
The daughter of a friend has been shortlisted to win an internship in New York.Could you please vote for her design
here's the link
http://www.facebook.com/nokia/app_134483630049283
Her design is called fragmented by Hattie Wade and is the one on the bottom line far right, when you click on it it brings up her name.
Thanks

Vegetarian....
I have had my 2nd vegetarian meal this week.Tonight i made a Spanish omelette.I have enough for lunch tomorrow ,I'm not turning veggie but as i have said before meat is expensive and i really want to start eating better, using things i have a ready supply off(eggs but hopefully come summer veg).OH will not join in with this so i have prepared his meal just have to cook his meat when hes ready to eat( he will probably cook it)
My darling granddaughters are flying down to visit for a few days this weekend, they are going to meet their new baby sister. My son is paying for the girls mum and the girls to fly down( and home). The girls are staying with my son and mum is going to stay at her dad.Even though this has worked out expensive for my son it is still cheaper than them all flying up to Scotland, accommodation, car hire and finding things to do.This way we all get to see them.Cant wait...
I realise i haven't really spoken about my debt busting lately. When you look at the total figure we owe its not alot but money isn't brilliant at the moment so it seems a slow slog.I looked back at some spreadsheets from 2011 and i know we have made a huge reduction in our debts so i must be patient.
Tesco interview will take place during half term,3 of us are going to be interviewed.More details will be sent out once a date has been confirmed. At least it gives me more time to get DD to do my hair..........

Today has been a dry and blustery day and i wasn't able to get washing on the line.Tomorrow i have heard rumour we are getting snow,i do hope they are wrong.
The weekend went very quickly.Dinner at eldest daughters Saturday which was delightful.Sunday we visited my son and Isabelle and Sunday afternoon we went to the cinema to see Hitchcock,I thought this was a well made film but can see it wont be every ones cup of tea.Anthony Hopkins is completely unrecognisable as Hitchcock .
Haven't heard anymore from Tesco but I'm sure i will sooner rather than later.
OH has been disliking a few of my meals lately.Risotto, potato topped chicken pie to name but 2.Tonight's dinner was going to be Mackerel quiche which when told didn't go down well.So now I'm going to make a cottage pie and he will have one portion tonight and i will freeze the rest in individual portions.I'm going to have risotto one of my new favorite foods.
Just wanted to drop back and say even if i do say so myself my butternut squash risotto was delicious.
