I'm not sure what people are going to think of this picture.
For the last year i have been buying multiple items with coupons,(all legitimately used) I took advantage of Double the difference when a certain supermarket did that.
Superdrug also do loads of very good special offers at different times.
I log all my spends on a spreadsheet and my grocery budget spend has reduced drastically. It takes planning and research but I'm a huge fan of the Martin Lewis forums.
So now i have a lovely stash and don't have to buy toiletries or cleaning/laundry products for quite a while
(unless i have a coupon and or they are on special offer.)
so here is my stash
The shelves are bowing under the weight of it.
Does anyone else stockpile?
If it's there, a bargain and we use it then I definitely buy a few and store. You seem to have a better logging system than me.

Wow that is a stock pile!
ReplyDeleteI do tend to buy things if I know I will use them and they are on offer and I do have a slight stock pile of things like toothpaste, soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and loo roll. Trouble is I don't have much space to store them.

I have quite a lot of toiletries I stash away.I get loads bought for christmas, birthdays and mothers days and they usually last me all year!
ReplyDeleteJust to let you know too that I have nominated you for the versatile blogger award, check out my blog for details!
I am clipping coupons but don't know if there is a Supermarket that will take them if I don't buy that item, as long as they stock it. Is there?
ReplyDeleteNo you have to buy the product,Tesco used to take coupons if you didnt buy the products but they stopped a few years back.
DeleteHope you get a decent nights sleep tonight.

If it is on sale I will buy more than I need, but sales here are never good enough to stock pile.

OMG! they are going to snap any minute now. That's what you call a stockpile. Can't say I really stockpile as I have a limited budget each week which does not give much leeway for stockpiling.
ReplyDeleteI do stockpile, not quite to your extent, but I do stock up on say 6 months supply of toothpaste if it's a brilliant offer, but as we're just about to move I have run stocks down recently.
ReplyDeleteI do make the effort though to stop spending and use my way through the pile at least once a year and then start again. It does give you the chance to save lots of money for a few months and that's what you can use to look for the next lot of offers.
I did keep a little spreadsheet detailing my savings but then I accidently deleted it...so much for organisation!!
I think your shelves are about to snap!! Lol.

I think you ought to stop buying now, regardless of whether you have a coupon or not. You have enough there for ten years. I wonder if this has become an addiction with you. Like when people go on a diet they automatically think about food, and when people are trying to save money they think about what bargains they can buy.
ReplyDeleteI think people use their stockpile as a crutch, to hold themselves up when they are at a low ebb. The fear of having nothing is frightening to some people.
thanks your reply, your comment about it being a crutch is probably true.I haven't purchased anything like this for a very long time,im working my way through it all.Im a cleaner so use alot of these products so its nice not to have to buy them.
